Introduction

The Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS), which includes Yale-New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, Grimes Center, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, Northeast Medical Group, Westerly Hospital and Yale New Haven Health Services Corporation, offers medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision care coverage to eligible employees and eligible members of their families. This booklet provides information you’ll need to consider when making your annual health care enrollment decisions for 2018.

YNHHS is committed to providing comprehensive health care coverage to you and your family. At the same time, YNHHS must manage the costs of providing these benefits and also continue to comply with the ongoing requirements stipulated by the Federal Government and specifically the Affordable Care Act, which, in 2018, prohibits plans from excluding coverage for transgender services, including sex transformation surgery and related services.

Good health is a precious resource and it begins with YOU. We encourage you to take steps to practice healthy lifestyle habits and to take advantage of programs and services that can benefit you. These include our annual Know Your Numbers employee wellness rewards program, preventive care covered under our medical plans, targeted health programs such as livingwellCARES, and resources like the MDLIVE telemedicine program.
