You have two medical plan options to select from — the Yale New Haven Health Advantage Plus Plan (Advantage Plus Plan) and the Yale New Haven Health Advantage Plan (Advantage Plan). Both plans offer excellent medical coverage for you and your family, especially when you receive services at a Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) facility.

You may elect to waive medical coverage if you have coverage elsewhere, your spouse is a YNHHS employee, or you have Title 19 coverage.

The Advantage Plus Plan provides a higher level of benefits and lower out-of-pocket costs when you need care but you’ll pay a higher employee contribution cost (deducted from your paycheck). The Advantage Plan has lower employee contribution costs but higher out-of-pocket costs. You’ll need to decide which plan option is best for you and your family based on your use of medical services throughout the year.
